Feed a Hundred People

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.~Mother Teresa

Miracles often discovered in a single act of kindness. Whether big or small, single or many, it is in the single act of kindness that joy is felt. As we feed another, whether literally or metaphorically, we are giving of ourself to another freely.

One or thousands it is the same, but the single most important is that one encounter. Maybe that one encounter is our next step, our next act…be open to whatever is asked of us today.

Stepping into the Canvas with a hunger to feed the hungry. Whatever the morsel that is fed, may it be in Loving kindness…may it be unconditional…may it be exactly that which is needed.

Help Them Anyway

Man meditating on a rock at the sea

There really is no right or wrong, only a man-made perception there is. If we see another in need, regardless of gender, faith or ethnicity, help them…even if it means ridicule.

There was a young man who tried to live his life by doing good, while often accused of being a dreamer. Smiling, he continues on his way…knowing, as John Lennon sings “I’m not the only one.”

One day this young man devotes his life to helping those in need. After helping many find their way in this Canvas of Life, he meets another lost pilgrim in search of happiness.

Challenging this man to letting go of limited possibilities, he encourages the other to accept infinite possibilities. At first the gentleman was skeptical, but afterwards found peace and happiness only to accuse the young man of being wrong. Not worried the young man washes his hands, blesses him and moves on.

The man in need was an addict, lost and scared. When asked what makes him feel good, the Good Samaritan suggest he follow what makes him feel good. In doing so, the man in need began small only to rise to bigger and better opportunities to paint the Canvas as he saw fit. This made the Good Samaritan very pleased. Regardless of the loss in friendship, the Good Samaritan knows that this gentleman will be ok…washing his hands and blessing him on his way.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

~Mother Theresa

Stepping into the Canvas with humility, through humility we come to know it was never really us but a higher power at hand. Being the tool for the Canvas, we set out to Create the Canvas of Life as we see fit, allowing whatever is needed to lead us on our way. Encountering a disbeliever…we set out to help them anyway…this is The Way.
