Sometimes You Need a Little Push

We all have been there and some still wait. Waiting for the leap forward to what their heart desires most. Spending more time talking about then actually taking action towards their ambitions. The something happens…we are pushed.

In the old days it used to be common practice to push children into the deep end, in hopes of teaching them how to swim. While the majority did, the minority did not. Not only did they not learn to swim, but have recurring nightmares over the experience of being shoved into the water without being able to swim. Sink or Swim!

“Even the mighty Eagle needs a little push”
~Joseph

In some instances this may work, but often it does not. However…there comes a time when we may need that push, forcing us to make a shift from that which we had put off. That time is when we are afraid to take the leap of faith, pursuing our life-long dream.

When Ani Po was still on the Pilgrim’s Path, lost and searching for higher meaning, She remained in fear. Afraid of taking the next step towards happiness. Until one day…a Warrior came along and pushed her off her path. As she stumbled to get up, she found herself on a different path. This path felt calmer, it was quieter, it was more peaceful…it was her path Home. This path eventually became her new reality and became known as the Warrior’s path.

Ani Po would not have found the Warrior’s Path without first being pushed. As her fear consumed her, leaving her numb, clarity was not on her side. With a sudden push forward, She found herself in foreign land. But with each step, it became easier and easier.

We can sit and wait for things to happen, just as Ani Po did. As we wait, that is exactly where we will remain…waiting. We either take the leap of faith or the Universe will provide us with an opportunity to make that leap. The key is to make the change before Universe changes it for us.

Stepping into the Canvas with a giant leap of faith. Whatever the Heart desires…follow it. We have an internal guidance system that is often over-looked. Tap into this guidance system and we will arrive exactly when we are supposed to.

The Great Leap Forward

Have you ever found yourself contemplating what it would be like if you only made the necessary changes in your life? Changes of health and wellness, changes in how you process info, changes in a job? We are all guilty of “making sacrifices” while putting off what matters most to us. “I will get back to the gym, after the holidays” or “I will look for a new job, as soon as the kids our out of school.” or “I will learn to meditate, finding inner peace, as soon as my schedule clears up.”

“Waiting For The Great Leap Forward”

~Billy Bragg

If you are waiting to take the leap forward, the time is now. This is opportunity knocking on your door. Will you answer the call? Do no hesitate…make the change. If there is not enough time in the day, make it. We all have something special we have yearned to do, but fail to make the time. The secret to happiness is taking the time for what we desire most, a necessary step for finding balance within. The sad truth is our ego will do everything it can to keep us from achieving our goals.

When meditating on this concept, I am quickly reminded of the scene in Peaceful Warrior…John is on the rings and just before he is about to do a triple flip, he returns to a conversation with Socrates…

Socrates: “Where are you John?”

John: “Here.”

Socrates: “What time is it?”

John: “Now.”

Whatever is holding you back, take the first step towards your happiness. Whatever it is you ‘want’ to do, is probably the very thing you need to lead you towards happiness. Make the change now.

Ani Po knows this human trait all to well. When she was a Pilgrim on the path to Warrior, she often tripped herself into thinking she wasn’t good enough to have something or she wasn’t worthy of applying for a given career. She is still afraid of certain days and events, but she confidently goes where most will not. Now an advocate for other Pilgrims, she assists those into the Light.

Recently Ani Po received a call from a Pilgrim.

Pilgrim: “Ani Po? I did it! I have taken the leap! I have accepted the path of Warrior!”

Ani Po knows what this means, as she been there herself. The Pilgrim has wiped the slate of reality clean and has begun the process of rewriting her reality. Our realities change with a mere thought. If we have a thought of change, we must listen to the inner voice calling us to be what we are meant to be…free. Free to do whatever we want to do and be the best_____ as we can (left blank deliberately for your addition).

Ani Po smiling by the recent phone call, she replies: “Welcome Home. You have taken the first step towards happiness. The road promises to be bumpy at first..stay the course. We all go through this process of re-conditioning and must go through the valley of death first to reach our own paradise. We all die, literally and metaphorically. Metaphorically we die and are reborn. Many traditions speak of this process, but sadly the followers do not hear the message. When we are reborn into truth, we stand firmly on a path, many other Warriors have stood. A path of Truth and Love. Literally we all will die, but those who are reborn will never die. Again Brother, I say to you…Welcome Home.”

We can sit and contemplate what it would be like if we made the changes or we can take action. Whether the actions are correct, it is important to take the steps. We may fail or we may succeed. Failure only comes to those who do not take the first steps. Success comes to those who take actions.

“It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low.

And we have set our sights very high… so high, in fact,

that even failure will have in it an echo of glory!”
― Bill Nicholson OBE

Stepping into the Canvas as it was the first time, noting the air lighter, skies bluer, sun brighter than ever before. It is time to take a leap of faith, changing your own reality. Wait not for the right time, for that time is now. Standing firmly in what you want, declare…I AM here and it is time.
