Captain’s Log: In the midst of Silence

In the midst of silence

Two months have gone to the winds — resting on a countryside foreign to even the skillful navigators. Foraging what the land has to offer — singing gratitude in exchange.

Contemplating very existence — from this moment to the next. Vacillating outcomes — uncertain where the oscillating footing lands.

Moments of deep-darkened spirals into Hade’s abyss — wishing for the pain to subside. To glorious moments of reminded miracles passing — new steps and greater fetes than yesterday’s forbidden fruits.

Temporarily or permanently embarkment of doldrums ship — greater is the song healing cellular to macro-cosmic returns. Infinite gratitude fills the pockets once emptied by a stroke of pen in hand.

Now, with Thunderbird’s mighty thunderclap — lightning bolts echoing Merlin’s illusive staff — the soul from silenced birth is straightened and harkened. A corset’s tightening and hardwood’s knocking — laced high are the boots made for walking.

Week one in — observing and absorbing the language of a distant land. Champagne popped like the bubbles corked for another time — celebratory dance on hold for another — maybe a brief little shuffle — no, full on getting jiggy with it.

Lucky is the captain who sees the lighthouse flickering in distant streams — steadied course — digging heals into galloping steed. Deflated sails or altered course — we have our heading for the chapter’s course.

Having worked my first week since the accident and donning flip-flops for the first time, a mini celebration is appropriate. How does one share the excitement? I chose to be tickled by one of June’s prompts in Know Thyself, Heal Thyself, allowing words to flow.

  • Write about what happens between this moment and the next.

Thank you Diana C. for holding this sacred space at Know Thyself, Heal Thyself.

Much gratitude for those who take time to read, ponder, and allow the inner workings of self to come forward. Grateful for the feedback, love shared, and, more importantly, the Dance with Inspiration. Deep Peace.
