Just when I thought I could not be bothered by the difficulty of another, someone proved me wrong. Another great opportunity for me to grow!
While having an already difficult day at work, through meeting everyone’s demands, I am greeted with a golden opportunity of remaining in my own space. Whether internal customers or external I choose to go an extra mile, bringing pleasure to another persons day. It is true, we cannot please every one, but we can certainly try. Some might say that it was my own doing, having brought this upon myself, as I tried to please every one. Maybe so, but I felt much better pleasing them…so I will continue this practice.
Have you ever bent over backwards to try and help someone lighten their load for their day? Have you ever tried to remain one step ahead of them? Maybe so or maybe not. This is where the ‘silly human’ comes in.
After a long day of work, trying to go an extra mile, another person made a joke of something not being in their job description. So without getting in a heated discussion I chose to ‘just do it.’ Unfortunately, I reverted back to an older self of sarcasm and negatively, quietly stated “I guess I will just do everything myself.”
What I thought was quiet, apparently was audible to the others. Amazingly, the person who lashed out in the first place, had the audacity to demand an apology from me. Stunned, not knowing what to say as I just ran non-stop throughout the day, bending over backwards to create a smooth environment for this person, I sat in awe.
Immediately, thoughts of ‘Silly Human’ came into mind. Similarly I am reminded of Christs’ last words, as he is hung for dead, forgive them Father for they know not what they do. Yep…silly humans know not what they do…I forgive them.
I did apologize to this person, inviting them to look at the greater picture of what transpired in the day, but they failed to see it from the greater perspective…only limited eyesight.
I invite you now, when others begin pushing your buttons, to laugh quietly, ignoring the rants and negative displays put on by others. As for myself, I thank these individuals as they create more healing space for my being.
Stepping into the Canvas with increasing opportunities. Opportunities of growth, through the eyes of another. Whether grand or small sighted, it is assuredly another golden opportunity to step into a place of healing light.
