Time Keeps on Slipping

Time Keeps on Slipping

Into the future

Holding pattern continues — unsteady footing while butt-sores inflate — a noble whisper’s little voice entered tune.

One cannot fly with the eagles while hanging out with turkeys. ~ Duane

Patiently, the heartbeat waits — to sing valiantly the echoes of canyon song — anticipation mounting whilst the waiting place gets darker as days go by.

Promised zoom calls falling flat — no answer to declaring finite — hence, we wait and write to tell another tale. Spoken words — transcribed into spacious thought — coming to life as promised by eagle’s glare.

Neighboring neighbor slumbers the day away — whilst flight anticipated awaits — no time to lose, no time wait. Off and away — soaring higher than yesterday — I want to fly like an eagle — Steve Miller calling, let my spirit carry me.

Tick-tocking beats — goes the waiting place sanded grains — excitement is mounting with feathers fanning out for northern skies. Cold is the blistery calling — Superior’s bone-chilling charade — packing everything from flip-flops to triple-down goose feathers.

Chapter’s closing song — interlude of this inner space — vocal cords readied for the new song’s sizzling melody. Answered call — great pause at hand — soon enough — doing what we love.

This past week, I spent more time with licensing agencies and health departments on hold. Today, I waited for a Zoom call to review all my paperwork for starting my next chapter. While on hold, I wrote this piece. Edited while waiting to Zoom.

Thank you James G Brennan for the nudge, a welcomed one at that. Much gratitude for the Literary Impulse, Somsubhra Banerjee, Priyanka Srivastava, Rahul S, et el.

Tagging a few who might want to share their words Sally A Mortemore, Michelle Scorziello, A. N. Tipton, David Rudder, J.D. Harms. Many more favorite writers I could choose.

Much gratitude for those who take time to read, ponder, and allow the inner workings of self to come forward. Grateful for the feedback, love shared, and, more importantly, the Dance with Inspiration. Deep Peace.

Inevitable Ticking Time

Change is Coming

Photo by Aron Visuals on Unsplash

Change is coming, inevitable,
Sun’s warming breath.
Time travelers occasional passing, demisable,
constant only is this change.

Seasons yield, submitting,
death and new birth.
Fawns and pups, younglings,
springing forth is this change.

New day presenting, passerby,
closing lunar reflection.
Stars and stripes, brasserie,
near and far is this change.

Self-reflecting thoughts, mastery,
no-thing existing, illusory halting end.
All things beginning, dicastery,
accountability is this change.

The animal kingdom, the teacher’s pet,
and nature’s flow followed the stream.
Plants alike, decaying breath,
nature’s way only is this change.

Looking to heavens, failing inwardly,
deep-dive cease judging thee.
Meditative states hinder me;
self-inflicted is this change.

Change is coming, inevitable,
time ticking clock giving way.
Focusing on another irreparable
hero’s journey is this change.

Very often a change of self is needed
more than a change of scene.~A.C.Benson

Too often, we look outwardly, interpreting what we see. Our interpretation is judging good versus bad, pretty versus ugly, joyous and angry. Finding ourselves in uncomfortable situations, in difficult whereabouts, frozen in our fear of further judgment, we resist constant change. Attachment to the way it was or expected outcomes, remaining frozen in time, hardening belief, and narrowing our minds.

Being present in any situation, even amidst chaos or despair, we are no longer affected by sadness. Being present in any given situation, free to interpret while remaining in peace if we choose. Being present is the observation of change, whether saddening outcomes or joyous returns, we just are. Going with the flow, knowing change is inevitable.

Maybe a co-worker annoys the Shit out of you, or they just don’t get it, misaligned with your trade of thoughts. What if they get it and you fail to see truth riding change? Skewed by anger, we only see others needing to change, failing to witness our need for change.

We spend too much time trying to correct others for varying beliefs and not enough time enjoying what the Canvas of Life has to offer. Seeing differences, celebrating beauty, shifting thoughts, converting self to global, deep within the subconscious witnessing the change, inevitable we are. In all the varying colors painted upon the Canvas, we rejoice at the many thoughts and ideas assembling into one.

Instead of looking at how to change things, ask how we can change. Instead of changing scenery, how can we change ourselves? While inevitable, fret, or soothing, reactionary presence choice remains.

Stepping into the Canvas with a new perspective is an inevitable change, turning focused self-reflection into this change. We are not to change anyone in the world, merely ourselves. While there is nothing to be done, self-realization inevitably is this change.
