Sometimes You Need a Little Push

We all have been there and some still wait. Waiting for the leap forward to what their heart desires most. Spending more time talking about then actually taking action towards their ambitions. The something happens…we are pushed.

In the old days it used to be common practice to push children into the deep end, in hopes of teaching them how to swim. While the majority did, the minority did not. Not only did they not learn to swim, but have recurring nightmares over the experience of being shoved into the water without being able to swim. Sink or Swim!

“Even the mighty Eagle needs a little push”
~Joseph

In some instances this may work, but often it does not. However…there comes a time when we may need that push, forcing us to make a shift from that which we had put off. That time is when we are afraid to take the leap of faith, pursuing our life-long dream.

When Ani Po was still on the Pilgrim’s Path, lost and searching for higher meaning, She remained in fear. Afraid of taking the next step towards happiness. Until one day…a Warrior came along and pushed her off her path. As she stumbled to get up, she found herself on a different path. This path felt calmer, it was quieter, it was more peaceful…it was her path Home. This path eventually became her new reality and became known as the Warrior’s path.

Ani Po would not have found the Warrior’s Path without first being pushed. As her fear consumed her, leaving her numb, clarity was not on her side. With a sudden push forward, She found herself in foreign land. But with each step, it became easier and easier.

We can sit and wait for things to happen, just as Ani Po did. As we wait, that is exactly where we will remain…waiting. We either take the leap of faith or the Universe will provide us with an opportunity to make that leap. The key is to make the change before Universe changes it for us.

Stepping into the Canvas with a giant leap of faith. Whatever the Heart desires…follow it. We have an internal guidance system that is often over-looked. Tap into this guidance system and we will arrive exactly when we are supposed to.

The Canvas Of Life

In a world of technology and distractions, we forget to step into the canvas of life. Laid before us to enjoy, often forgotten, we fail to embrace all that the canvas has to offer. Painted by source, enjoyed by few, free for all to enjoy. Unplug the PC, turn the phone off, and dare to not answer an email.

While technology can be a great asset it is often a great distraction, pulling us away from what really matters…being in the now. To be in the now does not necessarily mean to be in the know and often creates an image of disconnect. Not disconnected from source, but from distractions: news, everyday monotony, and often more sadness. It is time to re-acclimate ourselves with nature and enjoy all the canvas has to offer. Take a walk, ride a bike, do nothing. When was the last time you did nothing?

I had a wonderful discussion with a friend today, as we reminisced about the days of youth. We didn’t have cable, didn’t have cell phones, didn’t have email or PC’s to occupy our time. No…none of that! We just went outside and played. Ahhh…the good ole’ days!

When I stand before God at the end of my life,

I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left,

and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”  ~Erma Bombeck

Stepping into the Canvas unplugging from the rest, enjoying life as it were meant to be. In a world of distractions it is even more important to just be our authentic selves and do what we want to do. Living life to the fullest did not earn itself by riding the desk or surfing the net. Dare to take in the nature around you, feeling the breath of life travel in and out of your being…
